At The Lake: Summer

Summer...it's the best! With normally mild temperatures and the long daylight hours, it is the ideal season in which to enjoy the lake and the surrounding wooded setting.

Even a weekend seems to last longer, though never quite long enough, and tending to outdoor chores seems to be more of a reward than a burden.

Whether working in the yard, taking a walk, or just relaxing on the front porch, it is simply wonderful to be here. But on a warm sunny day, nothing can compete with a sight-seeing tour around the lake in our boat, stopping and then just drifting whichever way the wind takes us, mesmerized by the sun dancing across the water.

For those in pursuit of more stimulating lake fun, the warm weather also affords the opportunity to enjoy water skiing, tubing, and swimming. Over the years, try as we might, we have never been able to coax Spanky to jump off the back of the boat for a dip. To our little guy, being "on the water", not "in the water", is the preferred method of traversing the lake.
